Farewell, A Sausage Has Two
I launched A Sausage Has Two in 2018; a German food and travel blog whose name was taken from a saying made famous by the 80s German pop song (and its veritable fever dream of an accompanying music video), Alles hat ein Ende nur die Wurst hat zwei, which translates as “Everything has an end, only the sausage has two”. Having blogged about food and travel since 2006, and about my move to Germany in 2010, my interests had turned specifically to the cuisine of my adopted home, whose regional peculiarities fascinated me. Researching and writing about regional German food and drink brought (and still brings) me much joy, but as I gradually focused more on short form (read: Instagram) content and writing about food and travel turned into my full time job, A Sausage Has Two fell by the wayside. The site continued to receive an abundance of visitors, but it’s been a long time since I regularly published new content, and I’ve finally accepted that I can’t justify paying for its considerable upkeep if I’m not updating it.
If you’ve enjoyed reading A Sausage Has Two, please do consider following me on Instagram and/or signing up to the Germany Travel Picks newsletter, which is essentially A Sausage Has Two in newsletter form – a blog that conveniently appears in your inbox. Both of these channels are dormant at present as I’m taking some time off work, but I’m planning to relaunch the newsletter later in 2026, so if you’re already signed up, you’ll be the first to receive new German food and drink missives.
Thank you so much for your support over the last eight years – and even longer, for those who followed the blogs that preceded this one. Without you, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing now!
